The Terrazas clan rented this mansion during their exile in El Paso beginning in 1914. Fall was both a New Mexico senator and the lawyer for the Terrazas and Creel families. He had inherited large amounts of land in Chihuahua by marrying the daughter of the American investor William Greene. Senator Fall, a strong supporter of the right-wing Victoriano Huerta, was one of the most vociferous advocates of U.S. intervention in Mexico.
