THE BIRTHPLACE OF EL PASO: Where the World Met the Border: El Paso’s First Ward: Currently Under Archeological Survey
Several buildings that are still standing including the building on 305 Chihuahua Street that recently housed the Flor de Luna Art Academy. These three streets were part of the first platted El Paso neighborhood in 1859.
Recently a preliminary survey under the auspices of the County of El Paso found at least seven building that will be recommended as National Historic Landmarks in these three streets and will also recommend Duranguito as a national historic district.
