Pancho Villa stayed in the Roma Hotel during his exile in 1913. He would frequently descend to the Emporium Bar in the first floor where he liked to drink straweberry sodas. He met here with Maximilian Kloss, a German spy who allegedly offered him money in exchange for German submarine bases in Baja California.
